Final Fantasy XIV’s latest Letter from the Producer stream revealed details on Patch 6.4,”The Dark Throne”, coming in late May. Expect new quest and story content, the final Pandæmonium raid,  a new dungeon, and a level cap increase and new gear for the Blue Mage.

With a story and lore rich game like Final Fantasy XIV, there are new Main Scenario Quests on the way when 6.4 launches, along with more Tataru’s Grand Endeavour. Ocean fishing gets a new route, and we can also expect updates for Island Sanctuary, Including quality of life changes, new  ranks, crops, and even more animals.

There’s also a Duty Support update scheduled that will transition over some of the dungeons featured in the Stormblood expansion to the feature, enabling them to be completed solo with a group of NPC allies as your party.

Of note, the Stormblood expansion is still available to claim for free if you own the base game as part of a current promotion. It’s a good time to grab it if you don’t have it on your account, since you’ll be able to get a party for the Main Scenario dungeons.

As for challenges, the Pandæmonium: Anabaseios raid will conclude the Pandæmonium raid series, making way for whatever will come next. A new dungeon, The Aetherfront, is coming, along with a brand new Trial, The Voidcast Dais. The Trial will debut in Normal and Extreme difficulties.

PvP Series 4 and Season 7 of Crystalline Conflict are on the way. Frontline updates include adjustments to Fields of Glory (Shatter), and a helpful UI change to display match time and score info.

While it won’t be in the first rollout of “The Dark Throne”, the team did offer a preview of patch 6.45, which will feature a Blue Mage update that raises the level cap to 80, and adds things like job-exclusive gear, and new enemies. 6.45 will also add more side quests and Mount Rokkon, the new Variant and Criterion dungeon, in three difficulty levels.

For more, watch the presentation, and head to Final Fantasy XIV.
