Next week, Final Fantasy XIV gets Patch 6.18, and now, after Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida’s stream today, that the upcoming Patch 6.2 is called Buried Memory. This update will launch in August. Next week’s update got a lot of attention and detail though, including the Data Center Travel and Island Sanctuary features.

With Island Sanctuary, you’ll be able to have your own island sanctuary, a slower-paced solo feature where you can relax and enjoy things like gathering, building facilities, and adding and caring for creatures. You won't need to have crafting or gathering experience of any particular sort in order to participate.

When it comes to Buried Memory, this update is packed with content. In addition to new main scenario quests and side quests, including the continuation of Tataru’s Grand Endeavor, there is a new dungeon, The Fell Court of Troia, and a new Trial in both Normal and Extreme difficulties. There will be a new 8-player raid coming, Pandæmonium: Abyssos, which will release in Normal difficulty and then Savage one week later. There’s also a new Unreal Trial, Battle against Sephirot in Containment Bay S1T7.

The team will continue the PVP updates, including series 2 and Crystal Conflict series 3. Rival Wings is also coming back with some adjustments. New seasons will start upon the patches release.

Several different reworks are also coming, following the work already done to offer additional opportunities to solo some of the content. The Duty Support feature will expand to new main scenario dungeons ranging from Snow Cloak through The Vault. Other reworks are coming to the Steps of Faith Trial, which will become a solo quest battle, and Thornmarch Trial.

In 6.2 there will be additional content including more adjustments to jobs applicable to both PVE and PVP, Adventurer Plates, and a planned doubling of slots in the Glamour Dresser from 400 to 800.
