Today has been a day for Square Enix and its Final Fantasy XIV team. Patch 5.4 was detailed and given a launch date, but it's not the only thing the MMO developers have been working on as the studio teased a major announcement coming in early 2021.
The Final Fantasy XIV Announcement Showcase was teased during this morning's Letter from the Producer LIVE, and is taking place next year in February. Given that the global FanFests were canceled and we know we're at the end of the Shadowbringers storyline, it's not that farfetched to speculate this could be the announcement of a fourth expansion coming down the road. However Square Enix is mum on the exact details.

The Announcement Showcase is slated for February 5th, 2021 at 5:30 pm PST/8:30 pm EST. For sure fans will be speculating as to what's to come, especailly as the stoylines being introduced in Patch 5.4 start to get completed by players. We'll definitely be keeping our eyes out for any teasers and information leading up to the announcement showcase.
While we wait, players can start to dive into Patch 5.4 details, with the release coming on December 8th. The new patch brings new scenario quests, a Blue Mage level cap increase, and much, much more.
