The latest expansion heading to Final Fantasy XIV, Dawntrail, is now available for pre-order, and amidst the excitement there are server crashes and queue times for those trying to log in.

It’s no shock that fans of the Final Fantasy franchise can’t wait to get their hands on the latest expansion coming this July, but per the usual, there are a few server issues afoot with the pre-orders now live.

According to a Twitter post made by FFXIV devs (via PCGamer), they are aware of the issues, which include failed card payments on the Square Enix store when trying to get pre-orders finalized. There are also 404 errors popping up when login attempts are made, as well as a Reddit thread discussing the buttons not being functional on the site whatsoever.

Again, the developers took to Twitter to acknowledge the site's issues, stating,

“(Americas) While we continue our investigations and recovery operations for the SE Store, we wanted to assure players that stock of the Collector's Edition/Collector's Box is very healthy. While a small number orders have been placed, the vast majority is still waiting to be purchased. We will update as soon as we have more to share. Thank you once again for your patience.”

So many people have pre-ordered this morning that it is taking hours for them to get their confirmation email for their purchases, which doesn’t seem like a big deal until one realizes that pre-ordering the expansion gives players perks in their current games. For those who pre-order, they get access to bonus codes that can be used for a minion as well as experience boosting earrings. But, with these delays, it is taking eons for them to get their rewards in their inboxes.

Square Enix has addressed the issues online, but there are no concrete fixes as of yet. Hopefully as the day goes on the issues get resolved and everyone gets the rewards they are waiting for.
