Welcome to Tural

Final Fantasy XIV's latest expansion, Dawntrail, has now officially launched today, bringing the Scions to the New World.

Dawntrail sees players explore the continent of Tural, also called the New World by those from Eorzea, and is inspired by the real-world cultures and sights of Central and South America. Picking up the tale after the climactic events of EndwalkerDawntrail sets to blaze a new path for the Warrior of Light and the Scions, as they help Wuk Lamat compete for the ascension to the Dawnservant throne.

Dawntrail doesn't just bring the new region of Tural and all its holdings, but two new classes to play - both DPS classes. The Pictomancer is a magic DPS caster using their imagination to weave their magic into powerful, damage dealing works of art. The Viper is a melee DPS class that wields twin blades in flourishing attacks, combining the two swords into single double-bladed saber to finish off foes.

Alongside these additions, Dawntrail brings a much-anticipated graphics overhaul to Final Fantasy XIV, boosting the visual quality of character models, textures, shadows and much more.

While Dawntrail has technically been playable to those who bought the collector's edition since last Friday, it hasn't been without its issues, especially on Xbox it seems. Today's launch sets the MMO down a new path, having wrapped up its ten-year-lond Haedelyn and Zodiark storyline in Endwalker. Where the MMO team brings players from here is going to be an interesting ride, and hopefully can rise to the heights the MMO has become known for over the years.

Are you jumping into Dawntrail today? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
