Final Fantasy XIV is ringing in the new year with its Heavensturn event, and the MMORPG's team is giving some more insight before the event kicks off on the 31st of December.
The Heavensturn event is based on the Japanese tradition of Omikuji, where fortunes are given to patrons of various temples in Japan as visitors make donations at the start of the new year. Final Fantasy XIV is getting into the fortune-giving action with players able to draw their own omikuji during the Heavesturn event, which runs from December 31st through January 16th.

The post also details some of the rewards you can earn throughout the event, such as Japanese-inspired armor glamor armor sets, some indoor housing furnishing (all the better if you're able to snag a house in one of the new neighborhoods springing up next month).
To take part in the event, you'll head to Limsa Lominsa's Upper Decks to speak with the Usagi Bugyo, who will let you draw your fortune. Check out the full details on the FFXIV developer's blog. The event will be ongoing when Patch 6.3 Gods Revel, Lands Tremble launches next month.
