Final Fantasy XI  is still celebrating its 20th ‘Vana’versary’ and marking the summer with some events, some extended for the occasion.

The July update is coming early next month, and the Summer’s Delight Campaign is returning on June 12th with an extended lineup. First though, is the return of the Alter Ego Extravaganza, which begins this Friday, July 1st.

It's looking to be a big summer for Final Fantasy XI, with the July update bringing the monthly updates and rotations, Ambuscade, new Records of Eminence, tweaks to missions and the refreshed monster rotations for you to take on. The date of arrival wasn’t announced yet, only “early July”, but you can prepare by taking part in some events that should arrive before and after the patch.

The Alter Ego Extravaganza will give you another chance to add a series of alter egos to your roster. If you've missed out on any of these before, you now have two months’ time to try and add them to your collection. The event will run from July 1st at 1 a.m. Pacific time to August 31st at 7:59 am.

You'll be able to obtain the alter egos by completing certain tasks, everything from doing certain quests to getting certain items. During this event, you'll have the chance at getting 14 different alter egos that are returning for this summer. Normally running for just one month, the event will run for two this time, since it’s during the anniversary year.

Also coming on July 12th through July 31st is the Summer's Delight campaign. This will introduce a number of returning event campaigns that will let you get all kinds of special items, add to your collections, and of course, enjoy progression bonuses.
