The next big content patch in Final Fantasy 14 is coming, and soon we’ll be able to hear more about it. The second Letter from the Producer Live, often known as the “Live Letter,” is coming to bring more details about FFXIV’s Patch 7.2 on March 14.
This patch, called “Seekers of Eternity,” is already looking to be a hefty one. As with any major patch, we get some Main Scenario Quest (MSQ) content, and the even-numbered patches bring more instances of the standard raids. This time, too, we get two heavy hitters: the Cosmic Exploration casual content and the Occult Crescent field exploration, the latter of which brings the high-level “artifact” weapon enhancement.
Given the proximity of this FFXIV Live Letter to the estimated date, which is “late March” in their own verbiage, we’ll most likely be seeing the fuller scope of what’s coming in this update. For one, the trailer almost perfectly reliably comes with the second Live Letter, but also so do the exact details of the patch date and maintenance.
As for content, the last update gave a general overview of the content coming, so there’ll be details about that, but the latter Live Letter tends to get more into the nitty-gritty of minor changes. We’ll see some details about any “minor” content (which is relatively speaking) such as housing, UI, and crafting/gathering changes.
Also, if anything is coming in a sub-patch instead of a main patch for any reason at this point, we’ll also hear that during this Live Letter.
In the two weeks before this Letter from the Producer Live, and the three or four weeks until the actual 7.2 patch drops, there’s plenty to tackle in FFXIV, if you aren’t spending your time catching up and getting your item levels up. A neat “prince” outfit arrives with Little Ladies’ Day, and the Endwalker-era Inferno Jacket returns with the latest pre-patch Moogle Treasure Trove, along with other nifty items.
The Live Letter happens on March 14 at 3:00 a.m. PDT on their Twitch and YouTube—is there anything you want to hear more about from it?
