If you ever felt FOMO from Final Fantasy 14’s 'battle pass'-like PvP Series rewards but lacked the time or will to endure the slog, you may be in luck, as FFXIV’s community team seems to have confirmed the return of prior rewards. It’s good news for those who’ve been waiting for them to do this since they said they would do so back in Endwalker, with the premiere of the seasonal Series system.

In the original Live Letter two weeks ago, Yoshida seemed to frame the return of prior season’ PvP rewards as a possibility, as he’s known for talking and speculating about possible future updates. Now, per the “Digest” of this livestream, which is an officially-translated abbreviation, it seems more locked in as an upcoming feature.

“Starting with Patch 7.2, previous Series rewards will be gradually be made available for exchange,” the post reads.

This has been a highly-requested feature for a while, as PvP series tend to last only a few months and are quite a grind to ensure. However, given this is only a generally vague announcement at the moment, we don’t know many details. For example, there are two currencies usable for PvP at the moment, one earned through the Series and another through PvPing alone, and there could be a mark-up on prior seasons’ rewards.

Still, it might be good news for those who missed out on certain sets, mounts, and emotes that are otherwise literally impossible to acquire. And that means it’s another reason on a mounting pile of reasons to return to the game soon, with 7.2 launching next month with a new game mode, as well as a nifty Little Ladies’ Day outfit and the return of the Inferno Jacket via the latest Moogle Treasure Trove
