With the Early Access of Dawntrail around the corner, Final Fantasy 14 fans will finally receive their pre-order codes—including being able to play Early Access codes—but it comes with great responsibility. In the official post outlining Early Access and pre-order codes, the devs ask that players be courteous about posting spoilers about the new expansion.
“During the early access period, there will be no restrictions on what content you can discuss, post, or stream while following the Material Usage License Agreement,” the Lodestone post reads. “However, we ask that early access users please be considerate and do their best to avoid posting spoiler-related content as there are those players who may start at the official launch or play at their own pace.”
This ask was also made for proper expansions—after all, everyone plays video games at their own rate. Plus, it’s quite easy in a multiplayer game to accidentally mention something as simple as a dungeon name that spoils the context of a story.
Not to mention that we know from other Lodestone posts that we’re expecting congestion from high player counts—so your friends may not even make it into the game at the same time as you. Be nice to your friends as we enter every game’s obligatory launch trashfire period.
Meanwhile, for those who do have Dawntrail pre-ordered already, you may already know you get a few little bonuses—including Early Access, which lets you get in three days ahead of the official “launch” date of July 1. You may have already put in a code that includes Ayzema’s Earring and these other bonuses. This “Pre-order Bonus Coce” is the code though that will get you into Dawntrail’s Early Access!
However, you will need the Dawntrail Expansion Registration code, which will be rolled out starting Monday, June 24th, in order to continue playing Dawntrail after Early Access. Be sure you take a few minutes to do so, so you won’t get locked out after the official launch—Early Access usage will end July 5th, at 11:59 in your time zone.
