Square Enix announced the official presence of Final Fantasy 14 at PAX West, including a panel, giveaways, and a Boss Challenge.
According to the official post, the main event at PAX West will be more on the educational side this time. Lead UI Designer Kei Odagiri will lead the “Panel: Putting the 'U' in UI: Tailoring the FINAL FANTASY XIV Experience” panel, taking place in the Blue Dragon Theater at 11:00 a.m. PDT, plus on the PAX West streams. In-person attendees also receive a Dawntrail mini-poster.
The limited non-lanyard giveaway this time will be a Dawntrail-themed bucket hat, with not only the logo for Dawntrail on it, but also a tye-dye print and a couple of popular minions printed (or embroidered?) onto it. Of course, there’ll also be the lanyard, which sports Dawntrail’s bright theme colors, and there’ll be the usual merch booth for FFXIV and FFXI items (items TBA) and photo opportunities.
There’ll also be the usual boss challenges and goodies to take on. The major trial this time is the Main Scenario Quest's Valigarmanda—but instead of the usual Boss Challenge shirt, the prize will be a Tural-themed tote bag. New players will also get to take on any of the first few trials from A Realm Reborn, choosing between Garuda, Ifrit, and Titan; anyone who wins gets a code for the Standard Edition of the game.
PAX West, a player-focused industry event, will take place August 30 through September 2 in Seattle.
