Far Cry is one of Ubisoft's longest running series. For the first time in franchise history, Far Cry: New Dawn will contain "RPG light" features according to Creative Director Jean-Sebastien Decant during a brief interview. Players will have a base of operations called Prosperity that can be upgraded over time and weapons can be crafted across a number of ranks.
Another interesting feature in New Dawn is the outpost system that allows players to either capture and occupy outposts or "squeeze" them. Occupation allows merchants access to the location and provides resources to the player. "Squeezing" yields finances up front, but leaves open the possibility that the outpost will be retaken by enemy forces.
These "RPG light" elements are designed to add depth and longevity to the game.
