As 2023 winds down, Fantastic Pixel Castle (FPC) provided a thank you alongside an insightful update on their upcoming MMORPG, Ghost detailing what’s to come next year. The blog started with gratitude towards their community that has taken interest in the upcoming game. FPC recognized the positive reception of Ghost's initial vision despite the game's early development stages.
Looking ahead to 2024, FPC outlined their primary focus on prototyping the game. This crucial phase involves experimenting with several unique features that veteran developer and CEO Greg Street has come up with and plans to refine the game’s overall vision. Key areas that FPC outlined includes:
Player-owned “Blue Zones”: A novel concept where players shape their experience within distinct zones. FPC plans to blend player preferences with their own distinct gameplay vision.
Classes and Combat: Efforts will be directed towards modernizing these aspects while maintaining familiarity for MMORPG veterans.
Art Style and World Building: FPC wants to establish a clear visual and narrative identity. As a sneak peek, FPC shared an enticing concept piece (the hero image of this article) - showcasing the aesthetics of Ghost.

In early 2024, FPC plans to enhance community engagement. This includes more interactive formats like AMAs and the launch of an official FPC Discord server. While extensive player testing is not on the immediate horizon, FPC intends to share insights from internal playtests, inviting community feedback on what is shown to ultimately refine Ghost so that it adheres closer to what the community is looking for.
