Season 1 for Fallout 76 is set to begin tomorrow. Here’s what’s in store.
Seasons were previously discussed when they were introduced last month. They will be part of Update 20, and it looks like everyone will be able to participate. Each season will have a theme, with “board games” headlining the theme of this inaugural season. You’ll be able to progress more quickly in the form of Atoms, Bethesda’s microtransaction currency.
Bethesda initially had some confusing wording which prompted players to think later seasons wouldn’t be free (emphasis added),
“As mentioned above, you will be able to take part in our inaugural Summer Season for free as soon as it begins with Update 20.”
Bethesda clarified later stating that indeed all seasons would be free. Bethesda has recently shared rewards for all 100 tiers of this first season, along with a Q&A. Notably, if you are a Fallout 1st subscriber, there will not be any extra benefits,
“We may add extra Fallout 1st bonus rewards in the future, but want to focus on getting Season 1 in game first and seeing your thoughts.”
