In the latest Inside the Vault article, Bethesda showcases what’s new in Fallout 76's Season 9, which includes a bountiful list of changes that have been made since the Test Your Metal update went live last month. Check out what’s new, and what’s headed down the pipe on the PTS!

Last week we detailed an event called The Mothman Equinox, which will run until July 12th. Now, Bethesda has released some information related to a new Expedition that will eventually make its way into the live game. Titled, “From Ashes to Fire”, players will be tasked with contacting Fanatic Raider Danilo, who will send you on a rescue mission in the former Union stronghold known as Sanctum. During your missions you’ll fight through swaths of Fanatics, face creepy catacombs and be charged to stay vigilant against the dangerous Trogs.

This marks the second Expedition headed to Fallout 76 test servers as the team ramps up their plan for the big Expedition Update to hit around September 22nd. Those that are willing to test the new content can do so on Steam by installing the Fallout 76 Public Test Server from your Steam Library. From there, when you start an Expedition, you’ll need to choose from the two currently available for testing, “Union Dues” or “From Ashes to Fire”.

Players will also notice a number of other new features headed down the pipe, but available in the PTS, such as tons of bug-fixes, mission reward improvements, loot adjustments, changes to the world, UI updates, and plenty more. Hopefully players will be able to get everything sufficiently tested before the update goes live in September. Players can also jump into Season 9's Dread Island Tale, and earn some great new cosmetics on the S.C.O.R.E. Board, as shown below.

While Fallout 76 hasn’t traditionally been known for its bugless gameplay, it has matured over the years, and has become an extremely popular MORPG on PC and Console. Currently, the game sits at about 12K peak players a day on SteamDB, but it would be safe to say man players are experiencing the game on their Xbox, PlayStation, or through the Xbox App on their PC, as Fallout 76 is currently included with Game Pass.
