A recent Fallout 76 bug in the recently release Wastelanders expansion sees NPCs looting gear off of dead players.
As detailed on Reddit, NPCs can sometimes steal your gear once you’ve died,
“There is a game breaking bug at the moment with events that include NPCs such as riding shotgun and radiation rumble where if you die they will sometimes loot your weapon and all your ammo.”
The player lost a BE Gatling gun and roughly 2000 5mm ammo, and found an NPC with a Gatling gun. Bethesda actually responded saying they’re investigating the matter.
You can view another video below where the player is killed at the one minute mark. Upon respawning, the player notices that the plasma gun is missing, only at roughly 2:25 where the player discovers an NPC has that same gun.
