Fallout 4 fans are tired. The renewed excitement for the games following the release of Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV series ran into a brick wall, at least when it came to Fallout 4. Concurrent user numbers have been up for many of the more recent Fallout titles, including Fallout 3, 4, New Vegas, and Bethesda’s multiplayer entry, Fallout 76.
When it comes to Fallout 4, however, Bethesda thought it would be a good idea to drop its long awaited “next gen update” in the middle of all the excitement, adding a few good things, but mostly ending up breaking tons of mods, introducing new issues, and arguably worst of all, delaying the release of the total conversion mod, Fallout London.
Fans have been grappling with the update since its release, some even figuring out ways to roll it back so as not to deal with it. Modders, to their credit, have been slowly updating their mods.
Just as things seemed to hint at re-stabilizing, Bethesda announced another update in an attempt to fix some of the newfound issues. The update, which is now live, did improve a couple of things, but many of the original issues introduced by the next gen update remain and mods were broken yet again. Now fans are begging Bethesda to just stop updating the game, expressing a preference to have modders resolve the remaining issues.
