DC Universe Online is back live after a 10-hour pre-announced downtime to apply the latest game update, 117, and to launch the Halloween events. The fall sale is also back, with all kinds of boosts, respec tokens, character advances, catalysts and more discounted 25%. That's right, Fall Fest is officially open.
The Witching Hour event is back this year and there are other rewards and new treats to claim. You can log in from today through October 20th for three special items, one for members only. The items? Claim a CR290 Character Advance. To use this, you'll have to log out and back in again to character creation or the select screen. Then there's the free vampire cape. A two-toned, high collar vampire cape will be available to you to customize and put your characters into the spirit. A different kind of cape than some of them might be used to, but festive. For those with an active membership, there's a Dark Crimson Chroma pack to claim too.
There are new base items, and updates to The Witching Hour too. To start, find the Phantom Stranger if you're a hero or Tala if you're a villain in the House of Legends. There you can get more info and queue up for The Midnight Masquerade. New for the 2021 event is a race called “Multiplayer Aerial Movement Challenge: Flapping in the Night". Regardless of how your hero or villain usually moves about, for this, you'll be turned into a vampire bat and race around Arkham Asylum. There are new rewards and feats to unlock, as well as collections. Daily, you can also find “The Witching Hour” live (and repeatable) in your Mission Journal to complete and earn Spooky Bites.
