Star Trek Online will release its 31st season update, Both Worlds, on PC on January 23rd. The update continues the Multiverse story from last season, confronting the source of the ongoing multiversal threat: the Borg King.

The new episode, Scorpion’s Abyss will take you directly into danger. The Aetherians need your help. The Reality Vortex has been torn, creating a way for the Mirror Borg to launch their assault. The Aetherians ask you to help close it. This threat to the multiverse arose due to an unintended misunderstanding with the Tholians and grew into a high-pressure threat to everything.

In Both Worlds, it will be your job to find and enter the Mirror Borg Unicomplex. This is a heavily guarded labyrinth that you will have to figure out how to infiltrate in order to take down the Vortex and save the Multiverse when you do.

However, it wouldn't be a big new Star Trek Online seasonal update without complications, and the Borg are not just going to let you waltz in there and block them from their plans. In this complex you will eventually find the Borg King, who you’ll have to face if you have any hpe of ending the danger to the multiverse.

The update comes with a new Task Force Operation, Battle of Wolf 359, where you and four others will be able to relive the battle against the Borg at Wolf 359 and a new Season 31 event, King and Collective. Play through the event content to earn yourself a new T6 ship.

Cryptic is also introducing a new feature to the game, Elite Random Task Force Operations. This will let you queue up for random Elite TFOs to take on challenges and get some extra rewards.

Both Worlds will be out on PC this month and on PlayStation and Xbox on March 12th.

Cryptic Studios is also preparing the 14th anniversary event, also coming later in the month.
