EverQuest’s latest Producer’s Letter is here, and we get a recap of the year so far, and what’s coming, from more 26th anniversary missions this month, to this year’s “experimental” Time-Limited Progression server.
So far this year, we’ve seen content from The Outer Brood roll out, with new raids in January, February, and March, updated returning events, and the 26th anniversary. The anniversary included new gifts, some new content to play through, and there will be more 26th anniversary missions coming this month. The free Jade items will remain available until April 20th.
This month, Rathe Day is coming where we’ll see efforts to “save something endangered in Norrath” as a nod to Earth Day. The Tempest Festival also returns, with new content, and the special servers continue with new content unlocks. In May, we see continued unlocks and the launch of the next Progression server. In June, expect Hardcore Heritage, Pride Month, and the return of Scorched Sky.
As for the year’s new special ruleset server, the Darkpaw Games team is blending some rules and bringing others back from prior years.
This one will have Expanded Start, which means more expansions will be ready from the rollout of the server. you'll have access to more races and locations and a lot more content to jump in and do without waiting. Ruins of Kunark, Scars of Velious, and Shadows of Luclin will be unlocked from the start. To compensate, expect slower unlock cadence, there will be more time between unlocks in an effort to try and maintain a steadier population throughout releases.
To shake things up, Resource Hunter means daily zone-wiide bonuses in different zones to get out out to explore Norrath to find and enjoy them. Also returning for This Server are Legacy characters.
The server will launch on May 28th at noon PDT. Name reservations based on time played start opening on April 30th.
More info on the unlocks, pacing, and rules, along with more will be in the full EverQuest Producer’s Letter when it goes live later today.
