One of the MMORPG’s earliest legends, EverQuest, turns 25 years old today, March 16—and to celebrate, the game is rolling out year-long events.
For one, all players that log in from now until April 1st will receive a 50% bonus to experience gains, as well as a Royal Silver Crown for all characters. There’ll also be bonuses for those who subscribe to the All-Access Members program, including a Level 100 Heroic Character.
The celebration brings a few new things to delve into, including quests, a mission, and a raid. For the quests, “Chasing What’s Not Real” in Crescent Reach and “Chasing Madness” in Katta Castellum from Ghrald McMannus, you get to the bottom of Alta the Frightened’s turmoiled visions. Following Ghrald’s quest, you’ll unlock a Mission, “Reflections of You,” and then the “Inner Turmoil” raid to cap it all off.
There’ll also be a few blasts from the past, too. All of last year’s anniversary quests and mission will make a return, whether you’re above or under Level 100. You’ll be able to take on Sailor Twift’s “Riveting Tails,” Maitreya’s “Fancy Feast” in the Plane of Knowledge, and “School Supplies” from Geia Korrel, for instance.
Past Heritage Crates will also be up for grabs in the Marketplace until April 1st.
While that’s it for this wave of events, Daybreak Games promises the party continues “all year long,” meaning there’s probably more to come. If you want to check out how far the game’s come, the team also offers a nifty fact sheet about EverQuest.
If you're looking for more excitement to celebrat 25 years, you might want to take part in the Fippy Fest planned for later this year. Have any memories about this 25-year-old game?
