EverQuest II is still going strong, but there are many changes on board for the year, and now we have a look at the overall roadmap for 2022 shared by Darkpaw’s Head of Studio Jenn Chan.
The 2022 roadmap is a list of expected major events, new features, and changes, but of course there will be other updates and some of these may see shifting dates. For January, there's Kaladim Unlocking Age of Discovery which will open up the Withered Lands and Skyshrine zones. January is also bringing improvements to the test server. This comes by adding recipe books from all the expansions to the bookworm and setting up level boost to scale correctly to the max level.
February also brings a requested development, a server merge, with Rivervale merging into Antonia Bayle. And the Lore and Legends Server with every piece of content in the game appropriate to your character when you join and play there. March features the Chronoportal Phenomenon, along with new updates, for the EverQuest anniversary. The team plans a new throwback dungeon and new items for the event.
The rest of the year features a new Overseer season and a new Overseer inventory system, new raid dungeons, new heroic dungeons, and new collections. There will be a new Time Locked Expansion Server with new rules, additions for events like Tinkerfest, the Scorched Sky Celebration, Oceansfull festival, Panda, Panda, Panda, the Heroes Festival for the 18th anniversary of EQII, and the next expansion, following Visions of Vetrovia, planned for December.
July is the target for when the 64-bit servers and clients will launch. And there are other updates including item rewards, and more throughout the year. Of course, this is only the beginning of 2022, with some of this already underway, and we should expect details on the 19th expansion around the fall.
