EverQuest II’s next big update, The Immeasurable Menagerie, Game Update 126, will be available to test in open beta next week.
The update will bring a selection of new story, and much more. The update’s original premise and some details were released back in the July Producer's letter
“As you know, Miragul is an Erudite mage of no equal, capable of traversing through the planes and time thanks to his extensive travels and studies. But something about Miragul is different this time.”
It’s not going to surprise anyone that something mysterious is happening in Norrath and that you’re going to be doing some investigating. This strange version of “Miragul” abandons his laboratory “for one unbound by time, realities, and Celestial interference”, and he's taking things from times and places he visits to collect them into a single, elaborate arena. That's just the setup for the mystery, and the main reason why you'll be summoned to try and investigate.
For anyone interested in testing out update 126, The open Beta is coming on August 13th. if you haven't already, you'll have to download the beta build. If you want to copy your existing live game characters over, you can do that in advance.
