EverQuest II’s newest major game update,  Empire of Antiquity, is now live, with new raids, a new Overseer season, new quests, Tradeskill content, and a massive new Contested Dungeon.

“You’re braved the reopening of the Elddar city of Takish’Hiz and helped defeat Malachiel Caedor. And now that the Renewal of Ro has come to fruition, it’s time to explore the darker reaches of Norrath.” This is how the official description for the update begins, and indeed, it is a big one.

The update features the release of the Contested Dungeon, Buried Takish'Hiz: Empire of Antiquity. What this means is updated zone art that reflects the new chapter, 33 Contested Heroic and Solo bosses, a new Contested Raid encounter, and much more. There are over 40 Adventure quests, new Tradeskill quests, new collections, missions, and achievements. This addition is clearly designed to keep you busy for a while, especially if you’re more of a completionist.

Also going live is Buried Takish'Hiz: Emergence from Stone, the raid that had been pushed back slightly to release with this update instead. The raid will bring you into, where else, Buried Takish’Hiz, to face the challenge presented by an ancient curse. The curse won't be the only challenge, because there are also some stone titans down there, and a chance to help save those trapped in an ancient city.

The other raid in the update is Sultan's Mahala: Daggers Drawn, and this one will have you face off against the Sultan of Daggers and her protectors.

New Adventure quests arrive, with a number of options and rewards, and the ability to unlock even more adventures. Tradeskill content added will feature new recipes, new red shiny collections, and a rewarding chance to find ruby-colored implements scattered about. The new recipes also include distillation/dilution recipes for Vetrovia transmute materials.

It's a huge update, and there's so much more included, with new artifacts to discover and collect, learning about the Elddar Empire, aspects of Growth to take on, and more dangers.
