EVE Online's Revenant expansion has launched today, bringing new ships, new structures for players to fight over, and more to New Eden.
Building off of this year's Equinox expansion, Revenant aims to continue CCP Games' goals of revitalizing Null Sec and putting more power in the hands of corporations through new enhanced corporation projects. The new expansion builds on the lore of the Deathless Circle inside of the mysterious region of Zarzakh, with the shadowy organization giving players access to two new close-range brawling ships, the Tholos Destroyer, and the Cenotaph Battlecruiser - both with access to covert ops cloaks to help them get in close and use their new damage-over-time weapons to devastate enemies.
The new ships aren't all capsuleers have access to, as new Mercenary Dens can be constructed in nullsec to create a new resource: encrypted infomorphs. These structures will "latch onto orbital skyhooks around temperate planets," providing the resource to trade for the new ships - something that players will fight over in EVE's most dangerous reaches of space.
EVE Online: Revenant also adds new enhanced corporation projects, giving corporations more power to create goals and objectives that drive their group forward, such as projects that see players mining in specific regions of space, and corporation leaders can also set deadlines on these projects to help prioritize which their players should tackle first. The new tools also allow corporations to automate ship replacement, taking some of the tedium out of the process of compensating players for the lost ship should they get destroyed.
The SKINR tool for ships also got an upgrade with players now able to make corporation and alliance SKINs to trade and sell on the Paragon market, with more patterns, a new pattern slot, nanocoatings and more to work with.
