Last week we started to see some rumblings as the major empires of EVE, at least the NPC ones, were ramping up their conflicts. Today, CCP Games announced the latest Quadrant for EVE Online, Foundation, which highlights those same Empires.
In case you missed it, throughout last week (and apparently the weekend), EVE Online players have been treated to some cool NPC events with Dreadnought class ships bombarding planets in New Eden. It seemed to set the stage for an upcoming story-driven NPC Empire war, which instead set the stage for the events and story to be told through Foundation.
CCP Games states that throughout the Quadrant the different Empires wll be highlighted with video featurettes, celebrating the Empires themselves. This is all done with the backdrop of EVE Online's 18th birthday, and the team is eager for players to understand these Empires, what makes them unique and how they have evolved over 18 years.
“The Empires of EVE Online have evolved since the game’s launch in 2003. Each one has its own strengths and identities that our players have come to appreciate over the years,” Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online’s Creative Director said in a press release this morning. “As EVE turns 18, we want to give these empires the limelight they deserve.”
Celebrate your pride, history, and achievements in EVE Online's new Quadrant! Foundation brings exciting updates, balance changes, and events commemorating the Empires; Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, and Minmatar – and EVE's 18th birthday. https://t.co/TiMBeQOhcU

In addition to the different Empries getting their time in the limelight, Foundation will see multiple themed events (probably much like the ones that came down last week) to participate in, as well as various in-game activities, the Capsuleer Day event on May 6th and more. Players who frequent Jita's main trade hub will also see that the inside hangar has gotten a pretty massive overhaul.
