EVE Online's Drops Equinox Patch Notes, New Video Highlighting Upcoming Structures

EVE Online is gearing up for tomorrow's Equinox expansion, and the CCP Games team have dropped its patch notes for players to dive into ahead of time.

Dropping the patch notes early is nothing new for EVE Online, as it gives players time to read up on the changes that will have an effect on the sandbox when they finally get pushed to New Eden. Tomorrow, Equinox comes online, bringing its new SKINR tool for ships and tons of content for low- and especially nullsec players.

The patch notes also confirm that the nullsec sovereignty changes will be a phased rollout, meaning that the sandbox won't be kicking up all of the New Eden space dust all at once. This will give the giant player empires who have spent years solidifying their hold on their sovereign systems plenty of time to prepare and react to the changes as they happen.

To give an even closer look at what players can expect from the new Equinox suite of nullsec structures, a new video was released showcasing them from the perspective of the ingame company, the Upwell Consortium. Seriously, this reminds me of every single corporate training video I was forced to watch when I worked at Pier 1, so well done CCP Games trailer team.

The patch notes give a more detailed look at the different resources that are coming to New Eden with the Equinox update, including the new resources you need to operate the Metenox Moon Drill, which can be deployed into lowsec as well, giving smaller companies a chance to build up resources (and allow for more war targets in non-null systems to play with).

It's all there for you to check out on the EVE Online website. If you'd like a more personal, in-depth look at Equinox, Game Director Snorri "CCP Rattati" Arnason and Creative Director Bergur "CCP Burger" Finnbogason took part in an Equinox in Focus chat with senior community developer Dan "CCP Convict" Crone.
