EVE Online is officially welcoming people to Nuevo Edén with the official launch of its Spanish edition, along with a new video announcement and events and happenings to celebrate the release.
Earlier this fall, CCP released a soft launch of the Spanish version and client, with a call to the EVE community to help the team to finalize some of what was still missing from what could be considered a more polished official launch. That time has arrived, and there’s an announcement video featuring CCP Burger, the EVE Online Creative Director, showing off some of the process in humorous fashion.
The Spanish language client is now available and the team has a few scheduled events this week to mark the release. With the release of the Spanish edition today, at 8 PM. UTC/ 3 PM EST, there’s a fireworks festival and party at Jita 4-4 and carried on CCPTV. There will be members of the Spanish-speaking community featured on the live stream in order to officially open things up, along with what is a likely first challenge to the community.
“In addition to pretty explosions, we’ll also be starting what could turn out to be New Eden’s longest-ever spaceship conga line if we have enough pilots!”
On Thursday, the team will host another stream with members of the community chatting and sharing their experiences in EVE Online now that there’s Spanish support. And on Friday, there will be a Spanish centered NPSI fleet at 8 PM UTC. While you don’t have to be playing the Spanish edition to participate and join in the celebration (or any hunting that takes place), CCP will be highlighting the newest official community.
Nobody will get left out this week, as there are login rewards, including a new skin. There’s also a special pack for sale, Tercio Rojo.
