EVE Online developer CCP has begun the first phase of the Quantum Cores series, with an update today. The updates are aimed at changing some of the core gameplay features in EVE Online through many multifaceted updates over the course of several months.
The first phase of the Quantum Cores series will be the introduction of the cores, which will be a necessity in deploying and repairing structures. To facilitate the understanding of the different core states, CCP has also provided an in-depth diagram for the usage of Quantum Cores, that you will be able to see in full on the official release notice.
Quantum Cores will roll out in three phases, which are detailed below:
- Seeding - 8 September 2020
- Required for new structures – 13 October 2020
- Required for existing structures - 12 January 2021
Cores will become available during the Seeding update that releases today. The purpose of the core system as described in the article is to increase the incentive and reward for attacking structures while keeping “structure spam” low.
