This morning saw Imperium and B2 forces finally take down the X47L-Q Keepstar owned by Fraternity in EVE Online, ending what has been a month-long siege that has seen thousands of players battle it out over the structure.

For those keeping up with the exploits of the Null Empires in EVE Online, a few weeks back we reported on a battle in the X47L-Q system that saw over 6000 pilots duke it out, leading to tons of killmails and even a node death. The battle continued last Friday when over 4000 players fought over the Armor timer of a Fraternity-owned Keepstar in the system, with Imperium and B2 forces clashing with Fraternity, PanFam, and Winter Coalition forces.

This morning in the wee hours saw the culmination of those battles as Imperium and their B2 allies assaulted the Hull timer of the Keepstar. However, despite the large number of defenders in the previous battles, Fraternity and their allies were largely absent from this fight, resulting in effectively an undefended Keepstar being blown to bits by the Imperium and B2 coalition.

B2 has to be feeling good today as well, as one of the Coalition members, Brave, celebrates its tenth anniversary today as well. Knocking Fraternity out of their space has got to feel good.

Within minutes of the fight being over, EVE players took to Reddit to begin the propaganda, complete with low-effort memes, recaps, and more. Many of the memes this morning centered on PanFam and Fraternity's absence from the fight, though the last few days have seen players from those alliances move assets out of the system in anticipation of the structure being destroyed. This is reflected in the Killmail itself, which has over 2800 players involved in the kill. The killmail shows a relatively low value for a Keepstar, which could mean that Fraternity never planned to fight over the structure once it was clear it was going down after the Armor timer fight.

If you're interested in checking out the battle as it happened, Imperium News streamed the fight to their players (and really anyone who is interested), though keep in mind it's a one-sided view of the fight. What this means for the war between the Imperium and Fraternity and their allies remains to be seen. For those interested in a short recap of the war in the north so far, and the reason why this fight happened, Imperium's Brisc Rubal gives a short recap at about the 7-minute mark of the stream below.
