EVE Online players got into a bit of a scrum earlier this week as players clashed over a Fortizar, resulting in a battle with 1.1 Trillion ISK worth of ships lost in the fight.
The battle took place over the weekend (which was a holiday weekend here in the States) in the nullsec system of G3D-ZT, featuring just under a thousand pilots on grid. The fight itself took place over the course of an hour and a half, with one side fighting over a Fortizar anchored in the system.

The fight (according to T2-4B on Reddit) was over a Weapons of Mass Production Fortizar, with pilots from Northern Coalition, Triumvirate, Shadow Cartel and more joining up to defend the structure against a coalition of Seige Green, OnlyFleets, Synergy of Steel, and more. As attackers warped in on the structure, the fight apparently turned into "a big brawl" and, at one point, saw "about 150 dreads" take the field.
When the dust settled, the structure was reinforced, and 1.1 trillion ISK in ships lay destroyed on the battlefield, waiting to be salvaged.
It's certainly an expensive battle, though not the most expensive EVE Online has seen explode onto the scene in New Eden. The previous record holder, the Bloodbath of B-R5RB, saw 11 trillion ISK lost in the engagement, while the current record holder was set back in December 2020 with the Massacre at M2-XFE, which saw 23.6 trillion ISK destroyed.
