If you’re aspiring to create some tools for CCP’s survival space sandbox EVE Frontier, a new hackathon could not just make that ambition a reality, but get you to Iceland and Fanfest.

The three-day competition is happening April 29th through May 1st. Create tools and apps to enhance the experience in EVE Frontier’s moddable living universe. You can take part onsite in Iceland or online. Those who compete at CCP headquarters will get tickets to Fanfest 2025.

EVE Online and CCP are certainly far from strangers to community contributions, including apps, and tools. It's just the latest opportunity the company is presenting to get your tools in front of the development team and potentially score big. This is the third hackathon for EVE Frontier alone and will introduce a new framework for participants to add to what they have to work with.

They will use the EVE Frontier REST API and WORLD API, assisted by access to in-game data and access to public and private endpoints. PODs (Provable Object Data), is the new addition, described by CCP as “a new framework that enables trustless integration of out-of-game events and applications with in-game data”. EVE Frontier is working with blockchain technology.

Those who take part in this year's competition, the ideas that resonate with players and developers and work well to align with the vision for EVE Frontier will score rerwards when announced May 1st.  The top team up to $3,000 in vouchers for Iceland Air travel and tickets to FanFest 2026. Other winners and special mentions will get Fanfest 2026 tickets, with some getting other prizes.
