Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore, the hardcore indie game by Gellyberry Studios, has been on a transformative journey since its release on May 1st, 2023. While the initial days post-launch were marred by challenges like server lags and a plethora of bugs, the developers have put forth the effort to fix the game by proactively addressing these issues through regular updates and patches, and new features such as the inclusion of housing.
Over the weekend, Gellyberry put forth several patches as they work to make the game more exciting for players. Drakes, the formidable creatures of the game, saw an adjustment to level 30 from their previous level 29. Adventurers can now look forward to discovering over 30 rare loot items specially designed for the 15-30 brackets. The Shrine of Melrenor underwent tuning changes, enhancing the XP gains for players. Dungeon enthusiasts have a reason to rejoice as the Lair of the Exiles boss encounters now come equipped with new loot tables.
In a bid to balance the gameplay, the damage inflicted by Medium Earth Elementals has been toned down. Additionally, books in the game have been revamped to function effectively as shields, and several abilities saw their cooldowns being adjusted for a smoother gameplay experience. However, one of the most anticipated features, the housing system, is currently under testing in the scenic region of Farwood. While it's still in its early stages, the primary goal is to gather feedback and gauge interest in whether housing will be as important to players in Ethyrial as Gellyberry thinks it will.
Despite the excitement of the new feature, the developers have put out a warning for potential players – if you plan on venturing into this new feature, you should brace yourself for potential bugs, as it's still a work in progress. While the game has continued to progress positively, with Gellyberry working to fix bugs and get the game in order for its much-anticipated relaunch, Ethyrial is unfortunately dealing with some extremely negative feedback on their Steam page.
