Triune Studios has officially lifted the lid on Eternal Tombs with the premiere of the official reveal trailer for the independent MMORPG–which will feature live dungeon masters.

Formerly known as War of Dragnorox, Eternal Tombs is set in the land of Mithir. These lands have been under siege by a wizard named Dragnorox, and his minions. This is just the beginning, as through the brand new trailer, we get a look at the environments and the inspiration from classic and modern MMORPGs is apparent. We see battles with monsters, harvesting resources, exploring the world, different biomes, dragons, giant spiders, and more of what you might expect from a fantasy MMO.

However, this trailer also gives Triune Studios the opportunity to introduce why their game, Eternal Tombs, is different.

One of the major differences is live Dungeon Masters. Essentially, when Eternal Tombs is released, every day there will be staff members acting as DMs and determining different aspects of the world, taking a look at what's going on and shaking things up a little bit. Maybe you'll log in one day and the area and the zone is mostly under control, maybe you're farming some crops and waiting for them to grow. Log in tomorrow, and you might find that there are huge trolls in the field that need to be taken down if any semblance of normal is to return.

The Dungeon Masters have access to all kinds of dev tools in order to trigger different world events, change the terrain, do things like open portals and grant access to normally hidden areas. The intention is to deliver a dynamic experience that feels varied.

The DMs have various roles, and another shown in the trailer is declaring war operations, which are a call to arms to attack enemy strongholds. Groups will face down waves of defending soldiers and must survive, defeat their enemies, and have some gain access to the strongholds, discover secrets, and earn some rewards.

This is just the beginning, and the team will start revealing a lot more via a video series that they previously said was in the works. Part one will be out on September 7th.
