Eternal Tombs Plans Three New Zones in Next Test, Still Working to Get Things Ready

Eternal Tombs held its first playtest in April, and the team had previously announced their plans to begin holding regular test sessions. Creative Director Josh Caba updated the community on just what’s happening, their plans for more tests, and a peek into what to expect when that next test is here.

In a message shared to the game's official Discord, he says that they've done a lot of work and made a lot of changes after receiving all the data from the April test. During that test, there were server issues, instability, crashes, and queues, and afterwards, Triune was glad to have had that experience, because it gave them a lot to work with. Having all those issues happen during the first test showed them just where things were broken, so this also relates to when the next test will happen.

The answer is, they're “not 100% sure” yet, but they're working on it. Their goal of having everything ready to go to hold regular tests is still the goal, but putting in work on the issues has made it clear that more needs to be done before they’re ready for that kind of schedule. “After the first test, we realized there's a LOT that needs to be updated to ensure that we are hitting the mark before we can start doing tests that frequently,” the update says. They have been working since the test ended to fix what they needed to fix and update, but there's more left before they can feel comfortable enough in announcing a new test.

When that test comes, there will be three new zones aimed at the 10-20 level range. Those are:

  • Tombs of Ashura
  • Northmir
  • The Oasis of Kir

If you took part in the first test, even with its issues and short duration, there will still be something new to do with the three new zones, other additions, and fixes they’re getting ready.
