It looks like Zenimax Online, the developers behind Elder Scrolls Online, are working on a new IP and new engine.

This was revealed as much by Lead Graphics Engineer, Alex Tardiff who wrote on Twitter,

“Not much to say about this yet, but it's been so much fun creating a brand new engine. With how rare this kind of thing is nowadays, I feel fortunate to be at this studio while we invest heavily in our own technology.”

Indeed, the Careers portion of their site is filled with new roles for art, customer service and support, design, engineering and programming, and production. In fact, several job roles directly mention new IP such as this overfire for a Senior Art Pipeline Engineer,

“ZeniMax Online Studios is seeking an experienced Senior Art Pipeline Engineer. In this position, you will assist in the development of our next gen game pipelines. You’ll be getting in at the ground level of a new project, working with a world class team on cutting edge technologies to support an amazing new IP. From raw, low-level data management and IO to high-level UI systems, physics, animation and graphics, this role is involved in just about every system we use.”

It looks like we’ll have to wait and see this new IP, and where this new engine will be deployed.

Ta, PCGamesN.
