After digging in its heels for roughly a week on Escape From Tarkov’s new $250 Unheard Edition and it’s exclusive not-DLC and ‘pay-to-win’ bonuses, Battlestate Games appears to have finally got the memo from its understandably upset community.
Battlestate Games’ COO Nikita Buyanov once again took to the EFT subreddit with a new update, this time admitting that he “somehow did not foresee” that players would have been so upset with the studio’s decisions with regards to the Unheard Edition.
In addition to that, Buyanov shared plans to make the co-op PvE mode previously exclusive to the Unheard Edition available to all owners of the Edge of Darkness edition, though access will be rolled out in waves, accounting for the studio’s lack of server capacity to allow EoD owners in at once.
Buyanov also announced the mode would get mod support after EFT’s 1.0 release, that the Unheard Edition will not be removed, but will see its included items and perks balanced, and that EoD edition perks will also be re-balanced, including the removal of prioritized matchmaking. The studio promise to add “more unique stuff” to the EoD edition and a list of its final perks will be made available soon.
Buyanov signed off the update with a note thanking the community for its “time, love, and hate.”
