Escape From Tarkov's $250 Unheard Edition Has Fans Up in Arms Over 'Pay-to-Win' Bonuses, Exclusive PvE Mode

Escape From Tarkov’s Unheard Edition should’ve probably stayed unheard. The $250 was announced with the game’s latest patch and gives players who purchase it access to a new player versus environment game mode as well as upgrades that may provide players an unfair advantage in competitive play also known as “pay to win.”

First, the PvE mode being locked behind this edition is a new PvE co-op game mode, which has infuriated players not only for being locked behind such an expensive edition of the game, but also because the developer is stating that it doesn’t count as DLC for those who own the $100 Edge of Darkness edition of the game. One of the benefits of purchasing the no longer available EoD edition of Tarkov is that it promised access to all future downloadable content.

Tarkov’s community manager Daniel Mavlyuberdinov took to the game’s Discord to state the following:

“It ain’t DLC, its unique feature of the new edition added.”

Players are clearly not having it and the game’s subreddit is up in arms over the move.

The team later shared an update, which also didn't satisfy the community, since, instead of promised full access to PvE content, the inclusion is temporary -- limited to six months.

To make matters worse, the Unheard Edition also includes a larger stash, improved skills, and “increased fence standing” which will make players less likely to be shoot at by AI scavs if they have the right level of reputation.
