Battlestate Games has recently published FAQ for their MMO-Shooter/RPG hybrid game Escape from Tarkov and below you can find the second part of the translation of a few of the interesting points. We will translate more over the coming weeks.
You can read part 1 here.
Will you be able to play through Escape from Tarkov solo?
An off-line single player mode is not planned. The player can take on the game solo on-line, without the help of friends in co-op, but that doesn’t mean other players won’t be present on the locations. Moreover, in the final scenarios raiding with teammates is highly recommended.
How will RPG components be implemented?
The key components of EFT are inventory system, leveling and upgrading skills of the character. Obtaining new levels will be associated with earning experience.
Role-playing mechanics will be similar to The Elder Scrolls systems and based on repetition.
The uniqueness of our system is that the bonus system is not limited just to static bonuses. While leveling abilities, the player opens up new tactical possibilities. The top level of skill opens up an elite ability. If you stop leveling skills, the character slowly starts forgetting them.
Will there be clans or other permanent groups?
Yes, the game has planned an unrestricted clan system. Clans can be purely PvP based to all the way to the trade guilds and anything in between.
Will there be in-game economy?
Yes, the game will contain a vast, dynamic economic system. You will be able to trade with other players as well as NPC-vendors. The dynamism of the system is that everything is overseen by random factors: deficit, floating exchange rate, even health of the merchant, for example. All those parameters will be controlled by AI.
The original FAQ is in Russian language, but you can find out more about the game on the Escape from Tarkov site and come back next week for more information on the project. At this time, the pool of alpha-testers is limited to few countries and we'll keep you posted as it opens up to EU and NA.
