The day has finally arrived for those awaiting the full release of Escape From Tarkov: Arena, but for those who never got an invite to the beta or owned Escape from Tarkov: Edge of Darkness, there is a bit of an uproar on the horizon.
The developers of Escape From Tarkov have made the decision to charge $35 completely separate from the base game, unless players have previously purchased Escape from Tarkov: Edge of Darkness. Those who owned the previous game are in the clear, as access to Escape from Tarkov: Arena was included with the season pass.
For those new to the game or who never got a chance to purchase its predecessor will have to dish out a bit of cash to play, now that Escape from Darkness is no longer on the market. This has created a bit of chaos, naturally, as players feel like the game that is still early access should have just received the Arena as a mode in the base game rather than a standalone product.
Currently, the game is only available for purchase through Battlestate Games website and is not available through Steam.
