Epic Games has acquired the company behind the smash hit Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, the Tonic Games Group. The terms of the deal were not announced.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout skyrocketed up the Twitch charts last year as the new spin on the Battle Royale genre freshened things up a bit during the height of the pandemic. Since then, the game has cooled down some, but the recent announcement of Fall Guys coming to the Nintendo Switch looks to add even more players to the cult hit.
Tonic Games stressed that the gameplay that has made Fall Guys so successful "isn't changing," however joining Epic Games will allow the company to "continue to invest in making the game a great experience for players across platforms."
Via the press release:
"For Fall Guys fans, your gameplay isn’t changing and Epic will continue to invest in making the game a great experience for players across platforms. Your favorite colorful beans will still stumble through the chaos on PC, PlayStation, and soon Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Check out this blog post for answers to all your Fall Guys questions."
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is coming to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox later this year.
