Update 40 and the Endless Archive dungeon are now live for The Elder Scrolls Online on consoles. The new dungeon is free for all to access, and the update adds a group finder, Grand Master Crafting, and more.
The Endless Archive is a huge new PvE feature in ESO. It’s a dungeon where you set the pace, as long as you are able to survive, keep notching victories, and racking up the rewards along the way. Take it on in a duo, with a companion, or solo, throughout you will face monsters that you cannot find anywhere else, in addition to collecting unique rewards that you can't get anywhere else in the game. Among those rewards are fragments of the Hermaeus Mora Patron deck for Tales of Tribute, class gear sets, style pages, and more.
ZeniMax has also released an Endless Archive highlights trailer to mark the console release.
Now, console players can get into the randomly generated dungeon runs that offer new challenges, and even boons to help you on future runs that you can unlock along your way. Each stage and each encounter will be again, randomly generated, and three stages and a boss battle make up what is called a cycle. After every 5th boss battle, this is an Arc, and you will encounter a new monster that you can only find in the Endless Archive. Get past this boss and keep going for higher ranks and better loot.
Update 40 is also delivering on improvements. The group finder is a helpful tool to find others that are interested in running the same content you are. It’s not a queue system, so you’ll still have to make an effort to set things up, but you can signal that you’re looking for folks to do a dungeon, Trial, to PvP with, or even, yes, Endless Archive. Also create your own listing and set the criteria for joining if you're a group leader.
The update also offers Grand Master crafting stations that will reduce clutter, packing the same output capacity into just four stations.
