As it progresses through its successful Early Access phase, Enshrouded is seeing more and more content. The fantasy apocalypse action and building survival co-op multiplayer game’s latest 7.0.4 update, called Souls of the Frozen Frontier, adds a slew of new content and updates, including a new mountain area, farm animals, dynamic weather and more, while raising the level cap to 35.

Souls of the Frozen Frontier add, most vitallly, a new playable area called Albaneve Summits, described as “a vast and treacherous mountain biome expanding the north of Embervale.” It’s teeming with frozen areas and flora and fauna to match, as well as aerial updrifts for gliding. Players can also explore a new questline that explores Embervale’s “tragic past.” Enemies here start at level 28.

The game’s level cap has gone up, and so have the perks. There are new crafting tiers with new spells and abilities, and accordingly, players can build crafting stations to boost these.

Dynamic weather is introduced, drastically altering how players can interface with the world. Players will need to seek shelter or adapt with crafted tools, food and clothes when conditions become extreme, such as dangerously low temperatures or excessively wet rain.

There’ll also be farm animals! Instead of exclusively hunting for animal resources, players can now breed and cultivate resources given a little bit of your own resources at the base. Non-hostile animals will need to be tamed and given food and shelter at the base. There’ll also be tameable (and pettable) pets to accompany players.

Also notable is the addition of NPC townsfolk able to join player settlements. Players can find them by finishing their quests and bringing them home. Assistants can be placed in secondary bases for crafting functionality away from a main base, and townspeople can even engage with the players.

There’s also a ton of other updates for players to check out, including graphics rendering, pausing for single-player mode, XP and leveling rescaling, and a change that allows grappling hooks to pull enemies towards the players.

The full changelog is available via Enshrouded’s official post on Steam
