Italian-set soulslike Enotria: The Last Song unveiled a new trailer at the Future Games Show yesterday, along with a new release date that moves it out of competition with the Elden Ring expansion.
Enotria will now launch on August 21st, moving it by two months. Jyamma Games released a new trailer at the show, featuring some heavy hitting, agile combat against a series of creepy mask-wearing bosses and other enemies in ornate locations. Sprinkle in some dancing, some spirited music, and locations inspired by Italian locations and folklore, and some larger than life enemies. All of this happening mostly in the very intentional daylight and other well-lit spaces, in this take on the dark genre.
The trailer also features glimpses at the central mask mechanic at the heart of Enotria: The Last Song. As you switch your masks, your stats, abilities, and even weapons can change so you'll have to keep up your progression and stay sharp to employ the right tactics for each of the battles and situations you find yourself in. You'll have to tame different masks throughout the game and some battles will require that you switch around and find the right combination in order to best them. The trailer also showcases a number of the weapons you could get access to, and the melee and ranged attacks you’ll learn.
The team announced the launch date change with the new trailer, and the shift comes without surprise. When Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree was announced and given the June 21st launch date, Jyamma clearly saw their own challenging action-RPG likely to be overshadowed, and the move is a smart one.
Enotria: The Last Song has been carving out its own identity, and will now launch on PC (via Steam/Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5 on August 21st.
