Former WildStar developer Tom "Hildogen" Cassera has joined a new team called Empyrean Interactive. Other developers come from teams including Riot, Red 5, Turbine, Blizzard, Trion, 38 Studios and Valve. According to the official site, MMOs are in development that are considered "MMOs you can beat" and are called "persistent cooperative adventures. Empyrean is actively working to create "groundbreaking cooperative experiences" and cite lessons learned from games like World of Warcraft, The Witcher 3, Dark Souls, Left 4 Dead, ARK and Diablo.
Our constant touchpoint throughout the process always drew us back to cooperative experiences and ultimately we felt that the space was the right place to land. As ex-MMO devs, we’re all incredibly passionate about the space. It’s something that guides our daily development and acts as the north star for the studio’s vision.
