Embracer Group has announced that it intends to spin-off Coffee Stain Group into a group of community-driven game developers by the end of 2025. Alongside this, Embrace Group AB will be renamed to Fellowship Entertainment and will be listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market in Stockholm.

Anton Westbergh Co-Founder and Group CEO of Coffee Stain (previously Coffee Stain & Friends) spoke to this development, stating that this move will provide Coffee Stain with “clarity and control to navigate the landscape better” on its own terms.

It’s worth mentioning that the Lord of the Rings MMORPG currently in development by Amazon Games would be licensed under Embracer, as it owns the commercial rights to the IP. Details about the MMORPG have remained scarce, other than Amazon Games sharing that it hopes that this foray into Middle Earth will be able to differentiate itself from other MMOs on the market. More details as to what this could entail will be revealed in the future, but who knows as to when that will happen.
