World of Warcraft’s Embers of Neltharion update goes live today. Not only does Dragonflight get continued story, new features, overhauls, new Dragonriding races, cross-faction guilds, and much more. Blizzard is marking the release with sales, Twitch Drops, and more goodies.
The update takes us below the Dragon Isles and into the depths of new story to investigate the mysterious origins of the dracthyr and more lore-heavy adventuring. The new zone of Zaralek Cavern opens up those depths, leading to new places, and even new allies. Meet the Niffen and Drogbar, enter the underground and gain trust and even Renown.
This update also brings cross-factions guilds into the live game, offering new ways to play. The update also overhauls the upgrade system into something Blizzard intends to be more streamlined and intuitive. This one will probably take some getting used to for many, especially if they didn’t test it on the PTR.
The update itself is massive, and one of the two huge updates on Dragonflight’s roadmap. Season Two also begins next week, with the opening of Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible raid and Fyrakk Assaults.
To mark the launch, there are some Twitch Drops up for grabs from today through May 9th. If you watch at least four hours of Dragonflight streams on Twitch with a linked account, you will be able to earn yourself the Ethereal Portal. There's also a second week of Twitch Drops that awards the Blazing Hippogryph mount for another four hours of streams watched from May 9-17th.
If you haven't gotten on board with Dragonflight just yet, Blizzard has put the expansion on sale through May 15th. All editions of the expansion are on sale for 40% off, with the base edition at $29.99 and Heroic and Epic also on sale.
