The Embers Adrift community welcomed new faces, introduced a new event currency, and otherwise held a successful Summer Celebration. Stormhaven Studios also announced that their event discount will be sticking around.

This event was held over the weekend and featured a mix of community and GM events, which were scheduled in advance, along with surprise events and activities. The series of GM events featured the debut of new event currency, Bloops, which the team recently added as a way to thank players for their participation in GM events and to offer some new incentives.

Since Embers Adrift is a game with an optional subscription and no microtransactions, the decision to add the event currency means that there are some new cosmetics to exchange earned Bloops for. Clearly, this is a limited effort tied to events to make them a little more special, and it offers some more for the avid collectors too.

Other events during the weekend included a Proving Grounds tournament, with a Bloops prize pool for the winners. A number of community streamers showcased some of the GM events live, and there were also events, as in prior summer events, to help welcome new and returning players.

One of the special promotions that Stormhaven offered was a discount on copies of Embers AdriftI, down to $19.99. Once you’ve bought the game, you can play through the content without subscribing if you choose, or add a subscription for additional character slots and perks. That discount will remain in place for the foreseeable future, the team announced this week. There’s also a free trial build available if you’re still not ready to plunk down even the discounted price just yet.

Embers Adrift  continues to get content updates and improvements. The indie dev team added new quests to the Dryfoot Fortress dungeon, new world boss, new enemy, the first city Monolith,  some new solo content, and more in the past couple of months.
