Embers Adrift Shares Long List of In-Progress and QA Work, Including Nvidia DLSS Support, and New Content

Embers Adrift is trying something new and offering up a list of what’s in the works, as well as what is in the QA build and needing to be tested. This peek at what they’ve been working on includes Nvidia DLSS support, improvements to the GEL system, a ton of bug fixes, and upcoming work on crowd control improvements.

The initial list was shared earlier in the month, but the list of features and work has grown week by week. QA tests are available for subscribers to help Stormhaven Studios to polish up the game and to make sure new changes work before pushing them out to live.

Some of the stuff that is not yet in the game in any way yet, include Grimstone phase II and Forgotten Depths phase 2. They’re also continuing to work on crowd control improvements, with some already in the QA build, and another aspect, Fear calls for help, still to come.

The most recent QA build adjustments include the Nvidia DLSS support, which was added on Monday and fine tuned a bit more just yesterday. This will give those with supported cards a visual and performance improvement option. Yesterday’s tweaks included an effort to improve upscaling at night and to let the “resolution scale” slider work when DLSS is disabled.

Other recent changes in the QA build have beena range, from improving spider webs in some dungeons, to adding target dummies to practice on, to adding in bag dragging commands to enable dragging your bag around or even nearby bags you find (which will alert the bag owner if nearby).

The sheer range of the items on the list give a peek into the process of continuing to build in features and additional content to this independent MMO.

In the most recent update video, CM Elloa responded to comments and criticism over the game’s new pricing model, which is box price plus lower subscription, instead of devoting development resources to making cash shop items. While many of us have read in-depth patch notes before, seeing these lists of things that are in progress and also added this week lends a look at just how much work needs to be done, and why such support matters.
