Embers Adrift has released a new “State of the Game” report to reflect on the game’s first year. The first anniversary event will begin in just a few days, and you can even join for free and reach level 20 before Halloween to unlock a brand new system.
Stormhaven Studios’ MMORPG has undergone a number of changes over the past year, including the addition of a bunch of new content, as well as perhaps what some people might consider most notable, the change to a subscription-optional model. In the year in review, we see the sheer amount of content added, including nine Ember Veins and five long-form dungeons, four new zones, 36 quests and six crafting quests, over 20 new creatures, and a whole series of major features. Those include the first person camera, the dice dueling system, the expanded teleport, as well as a series of performance updates.
The anniversary event will run from October 13th through November 5th. Not only will there be an opportunity to play for free and enjoy all the perks usually reserved for subscribers, The box price will also get a discount, and there are a number of events for the anniversary, including GM combat events with special loot, a fireworks show put on by the developers, and even a a naked race to the Highland Hills. No equipment? No problem. special dev stream talks, and even a dice dual tournament. if you decide to get into Embers Adrift after the 13th, you can even level up to 20 by Halloween.
If you do that, you'll be ready for the next new feature, Alchemy phase 2, which you will need level 20 to start with. This feature is set for sometime this month. to accompany the new system update is
“A long lost Philosopher has returned to the Academy from his archeological exploits in the Grizzled Peaks only to lose his research in his search of an Ember Vein for crucial Vehueramen documentation about Alchemy. Help him make arguably the most important discovery known to the Academy about Alchemy.”
Features that are in the works include Epic Quests, with three phases for each specialization starting at level 35. There are some new quests coming this month. Beyond October, dates to be announced, include new features, more new zones to add to higher level content, including and game content, and much more. Other features the team has planned include Alchemy phase 3, a mail system, and fishing.
